Founder of Expressive Arts Without Borders

Markus is a pioneer in the field of expressive arts therapy education. He has been an active therapist and teacher since 1986. He has worked extensively with international expressive arts training centers focusing on personal and community body awareness and movement via a multi-modal approach.

He recently retired from his position at the European Graduate School in Switzerland where he was senior faculty. Markus is the first registered expressive arts therapist and a founding member of the International Expressive Arts Association. He is the founder and director of Expressive Arts Without Borders.

Markus is the author of Expressive Arts Education and Therapy (Brill Publishing, 2020). The material for the book came out of his work as an artist-in-residence at the University of Alberta in Canada where he was a dance theatre director/choreographer.
